Job Summary

We are continuing to expand our team and are looking for a Data Center Operations Engineer with advanced hands-on technical skills in Networks, Server Hardware and Linux. Ideally targeting someone with in-depth experience managing servers and completing complex projects in a large-scale distributed data center environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain new data center infrastructure w/ the help of the team.
• Understand and debug network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues
• Figure out the root cause of technical issues in the data center.
• Identify and communicate any potentially large issues that arise in the data center.
• Handle server upgrades, integration, rebuilds and other projects as needed.
• Utilize and work with vendors when needed to handle larger technical issues.
• Update and develop scripts when needed (Python/SQL/Shell).
• Help create documentation for the data center.
• Look for trends and system issues by analyzing data.
• Assist with process improvements and help come up with best practices.
• Work with cross-functional teams in order to complete projects in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of technical experience
• Must be strong with either: Networking, Project Management, Tool and Automation, Hardware and OS repair.
• Be able to support Linux hardware systems.
• Be able to modify or develop in Python, SQL and/or shell scripting
• Have the ability to manage multiple on-going projects as needed.
• Understanding of enterprise level networking and storage equipment installs
• Have an understanding of IPMI and Serial Console communication methods.
• Be available for on-call rotation when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working in a large-scale data center environment

Education

• BS or BA in technical field or equivalent hands on experience.
