Support Worker A great opportunity to work for a worthwhile Housing Association SAHA is a registered housing association providing housing and support primarily for single homeless people. Position: Mental Health Support Worker Location: Exeter Hours: Part time, 22.5 per week Salary: GBP10,711.80 Benefits: 25 days' annual holiday + bank holidays, Life Assurance, Pension scheme and an Employee Health Assistance Programme. Closing Date: 18th October 2017 Closing Date: TBC About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen within SAHA's Mental Health Services in Exeter & East Devon for a Mental Health Support Worker. The services currently consist of St Andrew's in Exmouth (6 Care Unit beds and 11 supported accommodation beds), Alternative to Care (A2C) in Exeter (4 supported accommodation beds within 1 community house), Floating Support Services across Exeter & East Devon and an Education, Training & Employment project providing volunteering and job opportunities for clients. St Andrew's House is a service that specialises in working with people with mental health difficulties. St Andrew's House has a 6-bed CQC registered Care Unit offering care and support on medium term beds, step down and respite and 11 supported accommodation beds. They have a dedicated support team who provide recovery-focused support to their clients in addressing identified support needs and empowering them to work in a recovery focused way that will enable them to progress to future independent living. Your main place of work will be within the Exmouth area, however, there may be the occasional requirement to work across our sites within Exeter and Exmouth to provide cover and additional support. The successful candidates will be responsible for effectively managing an assigned caseload of clients; contingent on needs, strengths, abilities and preferences of the clients of the service. Providing assessment, monitoring, support planning, linkage and advocacy for clients involved in the service. Possessing a clear understanding of the service delivery and resources available for those clients who experience mental health issues. About you: Candidates will need a patient and calm professional manner and a fair and non-discriminatory, non-judgemental approach. Proven experience of working with clients with mental health difficulties and who are difficult to engage is essential, as are good I.C.T., administration and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts will be required, as is the ability to travel effectively within the geographical location of East Devon.
