Job Purpose
To work with reseller partners, technology vendors and end clients, to promote, specify, and design information systems using the BigTec technology portfolio.
Accountabilities and Activities
Provide Pre-Sales support to internal and external customers focussing on meeting their needs through the use of BigTec's data centre transformation solutions. This includes:
Client Product Positioning (including presenting and/or delivering WebEx's as first product exposure to end clients)
Provide partner support for point product positioning
Provide support to Technical Lead on RFP / Bid preparation and submissions when needed
Build and maintain technical competence across the BigTec portfolio of technology solutions.
Identify an end client's needs, and promote, design and specify technology solutions, considering functionality, data security, integration, infrastructure and performance to meet these needs.
Investigate new technology solutions and systems that might benefit BigTec customers and are complimentary to the core solutions portfolio.
Develop and maintain technical relationships with key partner resellers and vendor organisations
Support Proof of Concept (PoC) activities with end users' clients, as directed by the Solutions Architect Manager.
Person Specification
Understanding and experience of working within the IT Channel Reseller community.
Understanding and experience of working with end clients/users.
Experience in assessing a broad range of technology solutions and products, particularly for data centre transformation solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and present technical concepts to mixed audiences.
A keen team player, and self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritise and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment
Strong analytical skills with problem solving aptitude.
Experience of working with infrastructure including:
Virtual infrastructures, including hypervisors (such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and hyper-converged platforms
Networking, including underlay and overlay networks, NFV, SDN
Servers, including multiple operating system support and familiarity
Storage, including SAN and NAS storage, SSD technologies
Public and/or Private hosted Cloud platforms
Open Source elements, including OpenStack
Firewalls and Data Security
Load Balancers
Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of two years in a technical role such as solutions architect, systems engineer, or other hands on role, with customer facing responsibilities.
