JOB TITLE: Production Operations Manager
LOCATION: Dewsbury, West Yorkshire
SALARY & BENEFITS: Attractive salary package with a company Nissan Navarra (or similar). Benefits include 30 days annual leave and pension.
WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week plus overtime, Monday - Friday.
THE COMPANY: Our client is a leading manufacturer of sports mats, rugby equipment, fitness equipment and importers and distributers of sports and games equipment. They have an immediate vacancy for an experienced Production Operations Manager for their site in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire to take control of their manufacturing and installations business. Reporting to the factory/warehouse Manager, this is a brilliant opportunity for a first class team player with managerial and technical experience to work within a manufacturing environment involving sales and developing sports mats, safety column and wall padding and specialist gymnastic equipment
THE ROLE: As an experienced Production Operations Manager based at Dewsbury, West Yorkshire you will be responsible for:
Supervision of manufacturing of all sewn PVC products and bonding operations.
Ensure that production output is achieved to meet monthly and annual budgetary targets
Identifying skills gaps and arranging training and development of their workforce
Monitor and control costs, including calculation of product costs
Minimise scrap and rework
Work within production KPI's and monitor achievements
Deal with specialised enquires for sports matting and installations, including discussions with customers and making site visits. Preparation of quotations and tenders and supervision of jobs through to completion
Work with their sales team to calculate manufacturing costs and prepare quotations
THE CANDIDATE: As an Production Operations Manager you will be self-motivated and consistent at producing high quality work.
Key Experience/ Characteristics for the Production Operations Manager position based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
Essential
Practical knowledge of sewing of heavy duty PVC materials, together with knowledge of shock absorbing foams etc
Commercial awareness and business acumen together with IT skills and CAD drawings
Highly motivated, driven and dynamic
First class people management and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Strong decision making skills
Full clean driving license
