Volunteering Co-ordinator - Greater Manchester Refugee Support ProjectLocation: ManchesterContract type: Fixed term contract, until April 202028 hours per weekSalary: GBP 18,805 - GBP 21,158 per annum, pro rataAbout the roleThe Greater Manchester Refugee Support Project is a partnership project between the British Red Cross, Rainbow Haven, Revive and Refugee Action and funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The supported volunteering project coordinator post has responsibility for ensuring that the sufficient volunteer caseworkers are recruited, inducted and retained to enable the project to meet its outputs and outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Flourish (volunteering) project. The post holder will be primarily co-ordinating a small team of volunteer caseworkers but may also be required to provide assistance directly to people depending on the level of service demand. To be responsible for maintaining and updating monitoring data (service user records) and contributing to evaluation exercisesThe coordinator will also visit, on a regular basis, the six outreach project locations to promote the project to potential users and to increase accessibility to support. The Greater Manchester Refugee Support Project is a partnership project between the British Red Cross, Rainbow Haven, Revive and Refugee Action and funded by the Big Lottery Fund for five years. This new post will be line-managed by the British Red Cross but the post holder will also be working closely with staff in the other three partner organisations. The supported volunteering project coordinator post has responsibility for ensuring that the sufficient volunteer caseworkers are recruited, inducted and retained to enable the project to meet its outputs and outcomes. The coordinator will also visit, on a regular basis, the six outreach project locations to promote the project to potential users and to increase accessibility to support.About the personGood standard of general education, to 'A' level or equivalent with at least GCSE standard (or equivalent) Maths and EnglishIT literate. Experience of using email, word processing, spreadsheet & database packagesGood working knowledge of legislation relevant to volunteering and the delivery of refugee servicesAn understanding of and commitment to refugees, asylum seekers, and their communitiesExperience of working with interpretersEnsures inclusive practice and promotes diversityAble to work and travel extensively throughout Greater Manchester and more widely in the UK as requiredThis post is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
