Qualified Social Worker – Palliative Care

Are you an experienced Social Care Professional who is passionate about specialist palliative care? Do you hold a Diploma/Degree in Social Work? If so, we are looking for a Head of Family Support to lead our Family Support Team at Leckhampton Court Hospice and help contribute to the incredible work we do across Sue Ryder.
Leckhampton Court is a Sue Ryder hospice, based in Gloucestershire. We're here for people aged 18 and over, dying from conditions like cancer, heart failure and lung disease. We offer a huge range of support, from inpatient care in our 16-bed hospice, set in the foot of the Cotswold Hills and surrounded by beautiful countryside, to day services and Hospice at Home which helps people stay at home longer and offers respite to Carers. Our expert care team includes Doctors, Nurses, Care Assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational and Complementary Therapists, Social Workers, Bereavement Support Workers, Volunteer Befrienders and Spiritual Care Workers.
As a Qualified Social Worker, you will develop, manage and lead the teams providing psychological, spiritual and social support for patients, families, Carers and staff. You will work in close partnership with the clinical teams within the hospice.
Requirements:
- A social work qualification
- A diploma/degree in counselling or psychotherapy
- An understanding of the issues surrounding end of life care
- The ability to motivate, coach and mentor others
