Solution Engineer

Introduction

• We are looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer (Senior Technical Specialist - SME) based in our head office in Swindon or our administration centre in London (with regular travel to our head office in Swindon) • GBP41,951 - GBP60,596 a year on a 35 hour permanent contract. • Send in your application by 2nd October 2017.• Location: flexibleNationwide is investing on building the bank of the future and driving agility at scale as part of our business strategy. Familiarity with industry standards and hands on experience on agile collaborative development frameworks in the context of cloud usage patterns such as SaaS, CaaS and PaaS are a critical enable for our strategy.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum requirement you'll: • have experience of agile development frameworks in 1 of the following sectors? Financial, Retail or Telco • have experience of devops and collaborative working environments • have experience of development languages such as [Java, node JS, C#/.NET Core] • have a thorough understanding ideally with hands on experience of [API development, MicroServices, CaaS and PaaS patterns on Cloud and Hybrid Cloud implementations] • Be a team player with a proactive approach to technical challenges, ability to think outside the box and challenge conventions with a can do attitude. It would be nice if you also had: • experience in digital banking and/or retail banking process automation • experience in middleware infrastructure patterns leveraging Cloud and Hybrid Cloud • experience in MicroServices design and development with understanding of Docker, OpenShift, Kubernettes • experience in API design and development with understanding of Apigee and Swagger • experience in DevOps through the use of Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Nexus and/or other relevant tools to cover the full software lifecycle process
