They are currently looking to recruit a team of 21 Fire Safety Wardens, fixed-term until 31st October to patrol five high rise tower blocks to ensure the safety of their customers whilst they conduct fire risk works to the buildings. The shift pattern will be 9am - 9pm and 9pm – 9am to ensure a 24/7 service.  Employees will work 11 hour shifts on a 4 days on/4 days off basis. Dependent on developments of the risk assessment, contracts may be extended beyond the 2 months.

Primary Responsibilities

•    Conduct regular walk arounds of the building, (internal and external) being watchful for any indications of fire breaking out
•    Maintain accurate records following walk arounds and reporting any repairs to the appropriate team
•    Ensure accurate records are kept and adhered to with regards to vulnerable customers and the appropriate precautions are taken in the event of a fire
•    Notify the fire service and customers in the event of a fire and take measures to evacuate the building if necessary, adhering to the fire evacuation procedure
•    Support colleagues in surrounding tower blocks
Essential Criteria:
•    Excellent communication skills
•    The ability to make decisions whilst under pressure
•    Be available to work at short notice
