Role: Electronics Quality Technician
Salary: GBP22,000 - GBP28,000
Location: Bath/Bristol
Basis: Permanent
Qualifications
HNC/HND Electronics or equivalent
Experience and Key Skills
*1+ year(s) in a quality assurance or production role in a PCBA build and test environment
*Knowledge of manufacturing processes for PCBA with both SMD and leaded components
*Hands on experience of fault finding PCBAs to component level
*An affinity with industrial electronics and their interface with mechanical equipment
*A sound grasp of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
Main Responsibilities
*Fault finding to component level of PTH/leaded and SMD PCBAs
*Analysis of PCBA defects from production lines and customer sites
*Liaising with designers re improvements in PCBA layout and component selection
*Providing reports for customers and suppliers regarding product faults
*Evaluating process or product problems and reporting on causes
*Identifying effective corrective and preventative actions
*Evaluation and correct disposition of non-conforming material
*Examination and approval of sample components from suppliers
*Responding directly to non-conformance reports (NCRs) from subsidiary offices and agents
*Supporting SQA Engineers, including liaison with suppliers to implement RC-CA
*Completion of discrete projects, focussed on product and/or process improvement
*Assistance/cover for other department members as required
Personal Attributes
*A self-motivated, professional and confident attitude
*The ability to communicate at all levels, including quick, concise and accurate report writing
*The ability to work alone and as part of a team
*The ability to pay attention to detail
*Excellent customer interface skills
*Excellent IT skills
*A positive and flexible approach to working time and travel
