Technical Services Officer – 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary £21,962 - £24,174 Spinal column point 24 to 27
The Council is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Supervisor/Clerk of Works to undertake the post of Technical Services Officer, based at the Council’s offices at the Memorial Institute, Burry Port. The successful applicant will be required to provide an effective facilities management and technical support service for the Council. He/she will have direct responsibility for managing the Council’s maintenance operatives and caretaking staff. There will also be the requirement for the control of contractors.
Strong communication skills are essential, together with the ability to work as part of a team and to motivate the employees that he/she is responsible for. Good IT skills are required, together with a working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation. Previous local government experience would be an advantage, as would experience of tendering and awarding of contracts within Council guidelines. Applicants must also be in possession of a full driving licence.
