Warehouse Manager- LHR – Polar Park - Monday – Friday to Suit Business Needs
Role Objective:
To manage, oversee and continually improve the Polar Park Warehouse and Operation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• To manage all areas of the operations Warehouse.
• To organise and control all staff providing the operational service needed both for internal and external customers.
• To ensure the operation is pro-actively managed with resources well planned
• Ensure contingency plans are developed, documented, communicated and in place
• To oversee the operation , compliance and management of the ETSF Operation
• Regular liaison with customers enabling effective product flows and adherence to specific customer requirements
• Ensure completion of bond checks on weekly basis
• Ensure general housekeeping is carried out at all times and that the warehouse and associated areas are kept clean, safe and tidy.
• Further enhance communication practices at all levels
• Assist in the development of current procedures and work practices, where necessary to improve efficiency
• Ensure all staff are fully utilised to meet the operational service needs
• Ensure that all staff are deployed by the most cost effective means and reducing overtime where possible
• Ensure that staff are provided and allocated to each specific area (ERTS , XRAY , General Warehouse receipt and dispatch ) to complete required tasks within set out timelines
• Ensure high levels of Health and Safety conditions at all times within the warehouse environment, adhering to corresponding legislation
• Ensure Security conditions and legislation is followed closely by warehouse staff
• Ensure all manual handling equipment machinery is regularly serviced and fully maintained via liaison with MHE provider / RTITB registered in-house trainer
• Ensure senior management are informed of events, progress and activities on regular basis
• To visit customers to understand full requirements, agree and implement any procedural changes or corrective actions
• To train and develop staff in team to high level standard for career progression with Circle Express
