The University Library is seeking to recruit a part-time Van Driver to drive the University Library's light goods van on Thursdays and Fridays of each week. The work will consist mainly of collecting and delivering material from and to University Departments with occasional longer journeys.

During any unexpected down time, the successful applicant will also be expected to undertake general security and other duties under the direction of the Building Services Supervisor.

The Library's Building Services accommodates all demands associated with building maintenance and standards set by the University's Estates Management and/or other regulatory bodies. Members of the team take on a variety of tasks to ensure the building is well maintained, safety regulations are observed at all times and the service is flexibly manned during Library opening hours in order that staff and readers can expect customer orientated help and support, during Library opening hours.

Applicants must be experienced and reliable drivers with a clean driving licence. The role holder will also be a strong team player/contributor with effective communication skills and able to respond to issues happening around the Library, escalating them where appropriate, and using safe and considerate working methods at all times.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until the end of February 2018 in the first instance.
