Research Scientist 

Scancell Ltd is an innovative biotech company focussed on the development of cancer vaccines.  It is based within the Academic Department of Clinical Oncology at the City Hospital Campus of Nottingham University.  The candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists involved in the development of our patent protected ImmunoBody® and Moditope® technology platforms for generation of novel cancer vaccines.  

We are currently seeking a

Research Scientist

This full time role in cell biology will join a team of scientists to identify and develop new cancer vaccines.

The following skills are essential:

  • Proficient in cell culture techniques
  • Experience in generating and maintaining stable cell lines as well as deriving and characterising clones
  • Experience in standard immunology techniques such as ELISA, ELISpot, Western blotting and flow cytometry
  • Experience in generation and characterisation of monoclonal antibodies
  • Experience with culture of primary human and/or mouse cells
  • Experience in immunohistochemistry
  • Experience in assays for characterisation of antibody and T cell responses
  • Work to high standards with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent record keeping and computer skills
  • Candidates should have the ability to work as a member of a team, have efficient time management, be able to learn new techniques and apply them to a high standard
  • Understanding of basic human and/or mouse immunology
  • Publication record in peer-reviewed journals

The following skills are desirable but not essential:

  • Grasp of standard molecular biology techniques

Applicants must hold a minimum of a PhD with significant additional relevant experience.
