Fareham College-CEMAST has secured the contract to deliver the prestigious dockyard apprenticeship programme on behalf of BAE Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the delivery of apprenticeship standards and frameworks in multiple maritime engineering disciplines. The role will require the successful candidate to plan and execute a practical and theoretical curriculum that meets the needs of the client and enables apprentices to gain the knowledge and skills to enable them to progress successfully into their chosen trades within the dockyard.

This position will lead and support innovative curriculum development, growth and diversification of the programme, contribute to the overall development and success of the Training Centre and help to ensure that corporate and strategic aims are met. There will be a teaching responsibility as part of the role.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for all aspects of contract and performance management of a group of staff within your span of control and promote a student driven culture of high performance and excellent teaching, learning and assessment. Reporting to the Managing Director - CEMAST the successful candidate will have responsibility for implementing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the customer BAE Systems.

The successful candidate will have an Engineering background specialising in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. They will need sound knowledge of the engineering industry and experience of apprenticeship programmes.

This would be a great opportunity for an established lecturer looking to progress their career into a management level role. The successful candidate will be responsible for a team of 5 experienced Instructors with expansion planned to include Assessor roles over the next 2-3 years.

This role will provide opportunities to develop wider leadership skills and a potential pathway to more senior leadership roles within the college.
