A local Nursery in Worthing is looking for an Apprentice Assistant Early Years Practitioner, to join their growing team, whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Sunshine Nursery are looking for a nursery assistant to assist with the day-to-day duties of their childcare provision.
You will work towards the completion of the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.
The purpose of an apprenticeship is to provide an individual with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge through completing on the job training supported by formal training at the College.
This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring Early Years Practitioner.
Your key tasks include:
- To assist practitioners with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance
- To help set up the playroom(s) for the daily programme and to help tidy away/clean at the end of the session
- To ensure that a caring and stimulating environment is provided for children that considers individual developmental needs and enables children to reach their full potential in all areas
- To assist a key-person with small group work
- To act as a role model in developing and maintaining appropriate positive behaviour strategies with children and staff
- To learn and understand the settings key policies and procedures
- To ensure children are kept safe and that you have an awareness and understanding of child protection procedures
- To take written and/or photographic observations of certain children as requested by key-person/supervisor
- To inform a member of staff immediately if you deem the environment to be unsafe, or a child is in need
- To support meal times within the setting (snack/lunch as required)
- To actively participate at team meetings, supervisor meetings and appraisal meetings
- To attend training courses as required and fulfil the objectives set by college or management
- To be flexible within the working practices of the nursery e.g. To help undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, prepare snack meals, cleaning equipment and the environment
- To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is acquired as part of the job
- To be aware of and adhere to all the setting's operational policies and procedures, e.g. Health and safety, fire precautions, dropping off and collection of children, food safety, cleanliness of the setting etc.
- To promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers
- To act as an ambassador for the nursery and maintain a positive image of its aims and objectives
