Joining our client as a Community Development Officer, you will work within the neighbourhood team to design, develop and deliver services which enhance the wellbeing of customers looking specifically at improving learning and health and preparing for work to lessen occasions of anti-social behaviour.
Working creatively and with innovative methods to design and deliver projects on the ground, you will make a difference to the lives of customers by finding and responding to their personal and community development needs and be the focal point for activity within the directorate; maintaining strong links with the partner organisations operating in the locality.
Building relationships with individuals based on trust and common aims which encourages active participation in projects, you must develop and maintain a detailed, up to date knowledge base of legislation, funding and good practice and support the delivery of, and evaluate, community based projects which meet corporate and team aims and objectives.
Candidates for this role should have experience gained within a social housing or community environment coupled with knowledge of the local area, community issues and the tools used to address anti-social behaviour, improve health and wellbeing, education or worklessness. With effective communication skills and the ability to use your initiative, you will have experience of working with community and/or tenants groups to achieve results in Community Development and demonstrate an innovative and creative approach to initiating and sustaining community development projects.
