A high-achieving, forward-thinking North West Kent Secondary School is looking to recruit an Oxbridge Graduate who is looking to start their teaching career in 2018 and who can start this year as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor.
The School have a high number of its students who go on to Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group Universities. The new Teaching Assistant will be required to help students by offering tuition and extra support for students leading up to their GCSE and A-Level examinations. The new Teaching Assistant will be given the latest pedagogical tools to ensure that your tuition and coaching have positive results. The students who will come under your guidance will be with a wide range of abilities. Your job will be to help turn the C's into B's as well as the A's into A*s.
As well as your role helping coach students to examination success, the new Teaching Assistant will also be looked upon as a mentor. You will be required to give the students an insight into University life and help them prepare for the cultural and academic changes to which they will need to adapt.
The Secondary School is an Ofsted graded "outstanding" school in Kent, the garden of England. The Teaching Assistant post would suit a resident of Kent or someone who is looking to do their PGCE in Kent or surrounding counties. The School do have the capability to give the Teaching Assistant a place on their School Direct training programme from September 2018 if things work out over the academic year. This programme is run via a grade 1 Teacher training course through a local University.
The School is a large, selective Secondary School situated in large grounds with first class facilities. It is located in the heart of Kent and can be easily reached by road and rail.
