Trainee Quality Engineer
My client is a small, high quality sub-contract precision engineering company based in Rushden. The company provides specialist machining services to the F1 Motorsport Industry.
My client manufactures complex 3D machined components in small batch quantities of between 1 off and 20 off dependent on customer requirements. A variety of materials are used including various grades of aluminium alloys, high performance plastics, CFRP and rigid foams. Parts are programmed using solid model CAD data with the machine code being output directly to CNC machining centres.
Department: Inspection
Hours of Work: Minimum 40 hours per week between the hours of
8.30am - 5.00pm Monday – Friday
Hours will be increased in busier periods as work schedules require. This will be paid at an overtime rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Responsibilities:
Providing Quality Control and Inspection for a small manufacturing cell producing components in small batch quantities in a variety of materials.
For the role you will need to be Computer Literate with working knowledge of all Microsoft packages: Word, Excel and conversant with the usage of inspection equipment and procedures.
The role consists of monitoring shop floor quality, identifying and implementing product and process improvements, and conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions on any quality problems.

Ideally experience should be within Precision CNC machining or Composites sectors.
Ability to work to a high standard within tight time constraints within a small team is essential.
Full training will be provided.
