Machine Operator

£Competitive Salary (afternoon shift attracts a 10% uplift on rate)
Our food manufacturing client has an opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator to join their team in Leeds
The role exists to ensure that the manufacturing lines operate safely and efficiently in line with production requirements and customer quality standards.
Main Duties:
To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
To protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at all times.
Maintain GMP on the line, for which the machine operator is responsible for.
Ensure product change over’s / start up standards are managed and adhered to
Report all faults without delay to relevant manager(s) to ensure engineers are at the scene to address issues ensuring production is restarted as soon as possible.
To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in all areas - operating a clean as you go mentality
Deliver a performance to ensure that company minimum standards are met and exceeded.
Ensure all issues encountered in production areas are reported immediately to the direct line manager.
To proactively support, engage and drive the continuous improvement of Company performance, challenging existing practices and actively supporting the Company’s waste reduction program.
To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.
To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by your line manager.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.
The Person:
Candidates will need to be technically minded, have a good eye for detail and an analytical approach.
You will have a mature outlook to the role with a passion for quality and a genuine desire to meet and exceed KPI’s related to the role.
Similar experience in a previous role will be an advantage.
