Learning Mentor
REQUIRED SEPTEMBER 2017

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to support children with behavioural issues to help them engage fully with the learning process.

Priory School is a large, expanding Primary School. When the school completes expansion there will be over 1,000 pupils. The school has a Complex Needs Resource Unit for 60 pupils, offering support for children with Physical, Medical and Sensory difficulties; Social, Mental and Emotional Health Needs and ASD.

The post requires someone with excellent communication skills who can provide 1:1 support as well as working with children in small groups to break down barriers to learning and impact on a child's progress.

The successful candidate must empathise with the social and academic difficulties of the children and be able to build trusting relationships with them while maintaining clear boundaries. It is essential that the candidate is flexible and can work effectively as part of the main school team.
