As Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the service availability for one of the UK's leading mobile network operators. Supporting the maintenance of both IN & VAS systems, it will be down to you to make sure we have the service levels required to protect a key business revenue stream. At the same time, you'll be handling incident solutions and running risk management to always ensure we are performing at a high level, and meeting our KPI's. What you'll do:
  • Maintain and manage upgrades of our existing systems
  • Be an expert for all Unix, Linux, and Windows systems under your domain
  • Ensure all systems are monitored, alarmed and regularly reviewed
  • Proactively recommend new processes that would improve services internally and add value for our customers
  • Collaborate with departments and third parties across the company to improve our service performance and service quality.


You'll definitely:
  • Have knowledge of intelligent networks (SSF/SCF)
  • Bring experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Have proven system administration skills in: Windows, Solaris, HP-UX and Linux
  • Be confident in using Oracle and MySQL databases
  • Understand ESX, CAG, XenApp technologies
  • Be able to handle, diagnose and resolve operational incidents
  • Manage supplier expectations and liaise with equipment vendors and customers.
