Have you got the determination to change a child's future?

If so, there could be a place for you in Hampshire County Council's Primary Behaviour Service (PBS) within the Basingstoke, Deane and North Test Valley team based at The Harewood Centre.

The Primary Behaviour Service is a team of dedicated practitioners with extensive experience working in Hampshire Primary Schools to promote children's positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. We are a referral based service offering outreach and inreach support for primary children with behavioural, emotional and social development needs. Our approach is to provide targeted support early in a child's life, helping to meet their needs in order to get the most out of their education.

In this role you will have the chance to use your skills in a brand new way, stretching your talents and supporting the children that need help the most. Day to day you will advise on behaviour management strategies; model good classroom practice and teach directly, as part of inreach support to schools. You will be liaising with Headteacher and senior school colleagues around strategies to engage children in school. As a key member of a centre based team you will provide the guidance and impetus to help children modify their behaviour - improving their chances of a brighter more promising future.

The Primary Behaviour Service is looking for a teacher of the highest calibre, with specific experience in multiple primary school settings. You should be fully qualified, able to co-operate with other key professionals, willing to travel and ready to engage with parents, including those who may not value education. Tenacious, understanding and good with people, you will be a natural diplomat who recognises the challenges faced by all involved and have the skills to facilitate progression.

Hampshire County Council is committed to supporting its staff. You will be joining an excellent rated authority that offers great training and generous benefits, and recognises your potential - whatever your background or role.

Visits to The Harewood Centre are warmly welcomed.
