One of the UK's leading providers of legal services and claims solutions to the insurance industry - a successful & long established firm of solicitors with UK-wide coverage - are looking for Fee Earners or Paralegals with Fast track litigation experience to join their growing Defendant Credit Hire Department in Manchester.

Working from their modern, high-rise office with a nearby Metrolink station, and close to the M60, they have a strong reputation for developing and nurturing employees.

Duties will include:
• Handling own case load of small claims and fast track files
• Dealing with and complying with SLAs
• Reviewing quantum, valuing general and special damages and formalising case plans
• Entering into telephone negotiations, liaising with third party solicitors and insurers, own insurer clients and lay clients'; drafting documents, applications, offers, orders, directions etc.
• Attending telephone conferences/applications
• Managing time in an effective manner with organisational skills and use of case management system
• Seeing cases through from commencement to conclusion whilst dealing with cases in a cost effective matter
• Ensure that all cases are dealt with in compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and Law Society Practice Management Standards

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following ESSENTIAL work experience:
• Proven experience of running a case load of small claims and fast track cases in a Litigation Executive or Paralegal capacity
• Experience of communicating and working with Insurer clients
• The ability to run an effective diary system
• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Knowledge of relevant Defendant case law, legal procedure and its application
• Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work effectively under pressure
• The ability to adhere to SLAs
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

And the following additional experience would be an advantage but not essential:
• Credit Hire experience
• Defendant experience
