Our client is looking to recruit a Transport Manager to oversee the running of the transport function on both day and night shifts.

The role for the successful candidate will include:

•    To ensure effective, efficient operation of all transport related tasks, ensuring compliance
        with DVSA & Traffic Commissioner
•    Ensure that the company stays up to date with any law changes relevant to your part of the
        business
•    Encourage staff to conform to the company’s policies and procedures relating to transport,
        referring to the Staff & Driver Handbook, relevant Procedure Logs and related documentation
•    Data entry (Fleet System & various other related systems)
•    Processing insurance claims
•    Keeping up to date with changes in transport law
•    Monitor vehicle tracking activities and report
•    Arrange driver assessments annually and record
•    Attending relevant transport seminars and events
•    To ensure all departments are kept informed of any events that impact them
•    General HR responsibilities including return to work, disciplinary’s up to dismissal etc.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

•    NVQ Traffic Office Level II Transport Management CPC
•    Must have excellent organizational skills
•    Calm under the pressure
•    Strong decision maker
•    Approachable – able to deal with staff issue’s or concerns fairly but firmly
•    Able to delegate tasks / jobs successfully and back check
•    Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
•    Previous experience as a transport manager

Salary: circa £30k + benefits
