Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas. In addition to over 900 students progressing to university from College, 200 students choose to study a Higher Level course available at the College’s University Centre each year.
Joining them as a Team Leader in Engineering, you must deliver excellent and inclusive teaching and learning in the classroom so that learners are inspired to succeed and progress across a range of BTEC Engineering courses at levels 1-4 and other specialist courses.
Deputising for the Curriculum Manager and having oversight responsibility for developing the quality and standards for a practical area of the Engineering curriculum, you will lead a portfolio of courses and lead assessment and internal verification to meet awarding body requirements, including taking on Lead IV responsibilities where appropriate. As an enthusiastic expert in your area, you will integrate appropriate and inspirational curriculum resources including ILT into lessons and plan delivery so that schemes of work and lesson plans support achievement.
With a degree or higher level trade qualification and a full teaching qualification, you will have experience of team leadership and relevant experience of raising quality and standards in a curriculum area.
Capable of producing effective schemes of work and lesson plans, you should demonstrate a background of inclusive and challenging teaching strategies and of supporting students to attend by meeting their individual needs.
Full time role – 37 hours per week
