JOB TITLE:              Functions & Conference Supervisors

RESPONSIBLE TO:      Assistant Manager / General Manager

JOB SUMMARY  To assist  in managing the day to day running of all aspects of Spikes Bistro & Bentleys Restaurant and the Golf Club in a professional calm, friendly manner.

Main Duties:

  • deliver excellent customer service, at all times
  • recruiting, training, retaining and supervising staff
  • responsible for all departmental induction training and on the job training of new members of staff and also newly promoted staff
  • understand the need for training and development of all individuals and to take a proactive approach in training employees on their responsibilities regarding Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
  • take a keen interest in current business situation and bring in sound ideas to increase profit, decrease spending, up selling orders and maximising guest spend where possible
  • ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines
  • promoting and marketing the Restaurant
  • overseeing stock levels
  • assisting with ordering supplies
  • assisting with staff rotas
  • handling customer enquiries and complaints
  • taking reservations/liaising with functions organisers
  • greeting and advising customers
  • problem solving
  • assist with daily briefings on important events and ensure that all events are communicated to all staff
  • assessing and improving profitability
  • handling administration and paperwork
  • making improvements to the running of the business and developing the restaurant
  • responsible for responding to all customer feedback

Carry out any other tasks commensurate with this position in-line with the business needs.
