Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer GBP35,000 - GBP44,000 per annum Southampton Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer required by a market leading company based in Southampton. The successful Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will be instrumental in managing projects involving installation, maintenance, support, IT hardware and software and communications systems. You will provide 3rd line support and have excellent communication skills. The role offers progression prospects and an opportunity to make an impact in this company. Key Responsibilities; Implement and maintain the reliability & performance of the IT Infrastructure Key senior member in technical projects, acting as a technical expert Manage infrastructure projects from concept to completion Deploy and manage Virtual IT infrastructures, including: Servers, desktops, switches, LAN's, WAN's etc Develop and mentor junior engineers Liaise, develop and maintain strong relationships with 3rd party suppliers Key experience: Experience of working in 3rd line infrastructure support (dealing with escalated calls) Experience of ideally most of the following: VMWare, Microsoft Windows/ Exchange Server, Cisco Networking, NetApp filers, VoIP and Citrix Full UK Driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to other sites (Ad hoc) Any experience in the following areas would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite; - ITIL processes - CCNA, CCA or MCSA qualified - Experience of Agile methodology or Prince2 This is an opportunity to join a highly successful organisation offering progression prospects and a chance to make a difference.
