Commercial Manager - Defence / MOD

A global defence and infrastructure technology design, implementation and control business seek to recruit a Commercial Manager experienced in Defence / MOD contracts on a permanent basis.

This Commercial Manager will be supporting the Programme Manager throughout the program lifecycle, protection of commercial interest including intellectual property and management of various projects. The Commercial Manager will be supporting Procurement activities to ensure the flow-down of key customer requirements and maintenance of sustainable commercial risk environment.

Salary - GBP50,000 - GBP70,000

Key roles and responsibilities for Commercial Manager role and will not be limited to:
* Manage commercial interface and representing the business at customer meetings
* Managing contract variations and negotiation of contracts
* Protection of commercial interests including intellectual property and various projects
* Optimise the commercial potion of the business in entering into new agreements and contracts
* Supporting Procurement activities to ensure the flow-down of key customer requirement and maintenance of sustainable risk environment
* Support Programme Manager to manage the customer against commitments
* Working with Procurement to manage supply chain related risk and supply chain contracts
* Advise the management team on commercial matters
* Travel to Saudi Arabia will be required

Key experience skills and experience required for Commercial Manager job applicant role:
* Degree educated with career experience in this this field managing and leading commercial negotiations with international prime contractors, UK MOD and/or other ministries of Defence.
* Experience will have been gained in the Defence related sector
* Successful track record at a senior management level delivering commercial leadership and strategic vision
* Coaching and mentoring a commercial team
* Evidence of contracting in Export markets and in highly complex multimillion pound programmes
* Demonstrable experience of contributing to the broader business agenda in regard to commercial decisions, operations and customer delivery.
* Adopting a clear, unambiguous communication style
