About the Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our team and to contribute to the continued success of the company. Your duties will involve the installation, commissioning and maintenance (reactive and planned) of low voltage electrical and electronic hardware at our customer sites located throughout the UK.

What we are looking for:

You will ideally have experience of working with similar electrical / electronic hardware in commercial premises and have a good understanding of installation and maintenance practices. The role involves the use of software and IT equipment, therefore intermediate IT skills are essential.

Our engineers must present a professional image to our customers. A flexible and positive approach is required. Good communication skills are vital, and you must be self-motivated and have an ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.

The role involves out of hours on-call support on a shared rota basis. You will frequently be required to be away from home overnight and you must have a full clean driving licence.

Key functions of hardware:

-Monitor, log and alarm

-Biggest customer is NHS Blood and Transplant, together with many NHS hospital customers

-Equipment used to monitor blood products blood, samples, food and labs

Tasks:

-New Installation (including test and commissioning)

-Add on to existing installation

-Calibration, Alarm limit tests, Validation

Sickness, Holiday, Pension, Equipment & other benefits of the Position:

-Plus 8% of salary on call allowance (when fully trained and ready to go on call)

-Average 38.5 hour working week – (and additional 7.5 hours travel time) – flexible

-20 days annual leave per year, flexible except for Christmas shutdown

-1-addition days holiday for each additional years’ service up to a maximum of 10 days (total holiday 30 days)

-Up to 10 paid days per annum for sickness (following 6-month probationary period)

-5% salary employer contributory pension (following 6-month probationary period)

Laptop - For company and private use

Mobile - For company use – may be used for private use at own expense

Fully Expensed Meals - Within guidelines

Work Wear - Shirts + PPE Provided

Requirements:
-Due to the nature of the role, to be considered you must have previous experience in a similar role and a Full UK driving license.

-Candidates with a formal qualification in an electrical or electronic engineering discipline will have an advantage.

-The desired candidate must be based in Birmingham / south of Birmingham with good links to the motorway network.
