The Sick Children's Trust, founded in 1982 by paediatric specialists Dr Jon Pritchard and Professor James Malpos, believes in keeping families together when a child has a serious illness. They currently operate ten 'Home from Home' houses, providing accommodation to families, and provide emotional and practical support. Prospectus is proud to be working with them to recruit an Events Officer to join a warm and friendly team. This is a key role within the events function, supporting the Special Events Manager to deliver the portfolio of special events and key challenge events. You will design and implement marketing plans and materials, ensure the events webpages are maintained and act as a focal point of contact for incoming events enquiries. In addition, you will ensure that event volunteers are supported on the day and with any requirements, and will source and acquire suitable fundraising prizes. This is an exciting and varied role, and you will have the opportunity to provide support and work collaboratively with colleagues across the broader fundraising team. In order to be successful in this role, you will have previous events experience (challenge events would be ideal but is not essential), and will have worked within a fundraising environment. With an organised approach to your work, you will be able to balance a complex workload, and prioritise challenges effectively. You will be confident in dealing with stakeholders of all levels, and will be able to communicate and build relationships with ease. Overall you will be passionate about the values and mission of Sick Children's Trust, and committed to ensuring they can continue to deliver vital support to children and their families. To apply for this role, please submit a Word document version of your CV only; cover letters are not required at this this initial stage. Full job descriptions will be provided to those shortlisted by Prospectus. Please note, this role may close earlier than the advertised closing date, so interested applicants are advised to submit their CV as soon as possible.
