Learning Support Assistant

Part time 1:1 Teaching Assistant

We have a part time position available for an experienced Teaching Assistant, working on an outreach bases 2 days per week. The role involves working on a one to one basis with a secondary student whilst they attend a vocational course away from the school site.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work alongside other members of the school team, and face to face with young people, to ensure delivery of education outcomes. You will have an understanding of the needs to help young people and experience working with disaffected young people. You will be able to work effectively with people individually helping to improve attendance and support and deliver learning sessions.

Responsibilities include supporting a young person's access to education and to put in a programme of support for any challenging behaviours. The Teaching Assistant will attend meetings around the young person key worker capacity and support Teachers and Project Worker's in delivery of a robust time table, meeting Ofsted requirements.

The successful applicant will become part of a small but effective team where communication and professionalism is paramount and where work is as challenging as rewarding. Experience of working with challenging young people within a classroom setting is essential.

Teaching assistant experience and or qualification is required for this role.

It will be essential that all applicants have access to a car as transport between the sites is required.
