Paralegal

We are looking for a Commercial or Contracts Paralegal to join our Legal team who are based in our Head Office in Glasgow City Centre.

Our business is all about people and to be successful in this job you've got to love people and contracts in equal measures! The phrase 'no two days are the same' is commonly heard in many job descriptions but we can confidently say for this role you will be wearing many hats! You'll have to know your way around a contract as you will be a main point of contact for any of our staff across the country. You will prioritise and effectively manage your workload, which will involve drafting and reviewing internal and external contracts. Working with an In-House Lawyer you will deal with a range of ad hoc legal matters including restrictive covenant advice, amending contracts and negotiating terms, liasing with internal departments, our Consultants and Managerial staff across the UK and directly with clients.

Experience of dealing with commercial contracts is essential. Coming from a corporate commercial background you'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail. You must have a very commercial mind set, with the ability to work autonomously, under pressure while being able to manage and adjust your workload to meet required timescales. Reporting to our Director of Legal Services there will also be some interesting project work which you'll undertake on an ad hoc basis usually around legislative changes.

As a sales driven business, many of the people you'll be speaking to on a daily basis will be sales professionals, looking for an answer yesterday. You'll have to have strong communication skills and negotiation skills to confidently instruct and liase with the many divisions and locations that you will support. Based in our Head Office just 5 minutes from Glasgow Central, we have a friendly open plan environment where you'll have direct contact with our other Central Services staff including Marketing, IT, Payroll, Credit Control, Finance and HR. You'll have to know who everyone is, as your job reaches across all areas of the business.
