Based in Birmingham my client primary school is keen to recruit two Graduate Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. The school, a two form entry primary, is looking for exceptional graduates that ideally have experience working with SEN and EAL pupils.
Located just to the south of Birmingham this averaged sized primary school benefits from a diverse mix of pupils, a warm caring and friendly atmosphere and a team of dedicated teaching and support staff. The school is easily reached via excellent public transport links with the addition of secure on-site parking.
The head has transformed this learning establishment in to a school the local community are proud of and proud to send their children to. She has made dramatic changes to the way the curriculum is delivered and to the feel and atmosphere inside the school. By actively involving parents and developing strong links with their community the whole school has seen huge benefits to all involved.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be tasked, primarily, with literacy at Key Stage 1. In addition you will be expected to provide support to class teachers in all aspects of curriculum delivery, including Mathematics. Candidates will be expected to support both the high and low achievers in school, and will be working and supporting the gifted and talented, as well as pupils who require support to obtain the required attainment levels.
Candidates must be able to form strong working relationships with both students and the class teacher. Candidates need to be extremely flexible, organised with the ability to use their initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do next.
If you're a graduate and would welcome the opportunity to support primary pupils who don't speak very good English at Key stage 1 then please email a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today
