Experienced Car Body Repairers required to carry out GRP repairs on luxury yachts. Previous experience from within a marine environment in GRP Repair would be advantageous, however candidates who previous experience working as a Car Body Repair technician will also be considered.
Main Responsibilities:
• Fill, rub, buff and polish (Flash lines and spot fills). Work through grades of sand paper, correct use of catalyst. Finishing, waxing. Familiar with small hand tools. Recognise and understand chemicals and materials used.
• Minor split work. Small distortion repair, breakout repairs, basic laminating skills. Familiar with die grinder and DA sander.
• Colour repairs, major split work, large distortion repairs, forming profiles and shapes, seam blending.
• Can create splash mould for use in repairs.
• Able to carry out structural repairs unassisted and mould repairs
To apply for this role candidates should have a proven track record either as a GRP Repairer or Car Body Repair Technician. Candidates who apply with slightly less experience experience may also be considered as a Trainee GRP Repairer, if this is the case a trainee rate of pay will apply during your probationary period.
A flexible attitude is essential as you may be required to work additional hours outside of your contracted 39 hours working week, Overtime rates will apply.
The successful candidate will work 07:30 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 - 12:30 Fridays.
Initially you will be offered a 12 month fixed term permanent contract with a probationary review at month 3. Subject to achieving the required standard of work and flexibility you will be entered onto the company bonus scheme at this point. At month 12 if your performance has been to the required standard an ongoing permanent contract will be awarded.
