Housingrecruit.com is currently advertising for a Support Worker on behalf of our client, a leading social housing provider based in Kent.

Our client is recruiting a Support Worker to join their scheme, Lily Smith House, based in Maidstone, Kent on a full-time permanent basis.

Lily Smith House is a 42-bed supported housing scheme. They offer secure accommodation and a safe environment for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, whilst working closely with each individual to provide them with a personalised package of support to meet their needs.

As a Support Worker, you will deal empathetically with new and existing clients who have a variety of needs.  Clients have no personal care needs but require support to develop their life skills and achieve their goals.  You will work positively with the appropriate agencies and local support services to deliver a package tailored to cover both practical solutions and emotional support. Regular contact and reviews will ensure that the needs of the individual are being met, making adjustments where needed and ultimately assisting customers to secure permanent housing, live more independently and achieve some of their aspirations.

Ideally, you will have previous experience within a similar role/environment, but your transferable skills are just as important. You will have a positive attitude, be proactive and enthusiastic, with the ability to work effectively with clients, including those who may display challenging behaviour. Additional administration and reception duties will also be required.

You will work a seven-week rolling rota covering early shifts (7am – 3pm), late shifts (2pm -10pm) This will include some weekends and bank holidays, for which you will receive enhanced payment and time off in lieu.

Our client invests in their employees offering training and support to enable you to further develop your skills within the organisation. They believe in rewarding their employees and offer exciting employee benefits, including 25 days holiday and much more.

Closing Date: 15th October 2017
