Senior VAT Manager

My client based in Preston is looking for a Senior VAT Manager to join their award winning team. They are offering Competitive Salary and Extensive Benefits package.

An opportunity for a Senior VAT Manager to take up a position within an award winning accountants and business services firm.


Providing high quality VAT advice to clients and internal VAT support to colleagues, the principal duties of this role will include:

o Providing high quality practical, commercial advice on complex VAT issues to a range of clients (from small OMBs to AIM listed companies)
o Actively identifying opportunities for VAT services and promote them internally and externally
o Managing VAT planning projects to ensure efficient and effective delivery to deadlines
o Negotiating with HMRC on VAT disputes
o Dealing with all VAT aspects of company sales and acquisitions, including carrying out due diligence, review of DD, review of sale and purchase agreement, and providing practical advice
o Providing internal support for VAT queries from staff
o Ensuring all fees are agreed in advance and are billed promptly
o Delivering presentations at seminars
o Preparing and delivering pitches for new clients
o Writing articles for newsletters and press releases
o Keeping up to date with technical developments and providing updates to colleagues
o Communicating opportunities for VAT advice to partners and managers

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise and practical experience specialising solely in VAT, a track record of promoting VAT advice to clients proactively and be a competent user of Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel.

Previous Experience within a similar role is required.
Previous Experience in practive would be beneficial
