Horton Housing Association provides a range of housing and day support services in a manner that promotes self-esteem, respect and independence to people disadvantaged by housing circumstances or social need.
We are currently seeking Evening/Night Wardens to join our schemes across the Bradford and Halifax area. The roles that are available are as follows:
BD1 area – Night Warden, 35 hours per week (10pm – 8am) on a two week rota
BD1 area – Evening Warden, 17.5 hours per week (5pm – 10pm) on a two week rota
HX1 area – Night Warden, 36 hours per week (7pm – 4am) on a rolling rota
HX1 area – Night Warden, 27 hours per week (7pm – 4am) on a rolling rota
The main purpose of the role is to provide a safe and secure environment outside normal working hours, providing security and engaging with residents, ensuring a positive and homely atmosphere. Maintaining a visible presence, your main responsibilities will include responding to the needs of residents, ensure that the integrity of the building is maintained and undertaking domestic duties. You will also be expected to respond to any emergencies that may arise in a calm and timely manner.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will have experience of working with a vulnerable / demanding needs group. It would be advantageous for you to have previous experience of carrying out security checks, monitoring CCTV and identifying and addressing any areas of concern. Friendly and approachable, you will have the ability to be firm but fair and maintain professional boundaries. You must have the ability to climb stairs and clean rooms ready for the new occupant/s.
