About the role

Reporting to the Operations and Transition Manager you will have the opportunity to work in an environment with a wide variety of different platforms and technologies Additionally we are looking to expand on our Cloud development programme and further levy the technology to improve performance and service. The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring the licensing for all ICT Software and hardware is legal. You will ensure that the Council and Police are complying with licenses and that our purchasing and maintenance is compliant to regulations. This role also has responsibility for the logging of all hardware so that we can remotely remove data from hardware if it is lost or stolen.

You will provide Configuration Management as necessary to ensure the Council and Police IT assets are used, maintained, supported, adequately provisioned, licensed and controlled effectively, both from a security point of view and also in terms of maximising the on-going investment in the provision of ICT Services. You will be responsible for creating, updating and maintaining configuration maps of all components and how they link together, working closely with Solutions Architects, Business Support staff and other ICT units and Council or Police departments to understand the requirements for technical IT components.

You'll be expected to work closely with our colleagues in all areas of ICT and Wiltshire Council / Police and their strategic partners to deliver a seamless service to our customers both internal and external and as such will require strong communication and influencing skills.
