Develop your social work career in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.
We put the needs of the children in Cornwall right at the heart of everything we do - and that takes professionals who share our determination to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.

Cornwall is at the forefront of social work practice with children and families. In June 2016 OFSTED gave an overall rating of its children's services as 'Good' under the tough Single Inspection Framework. Being rated 'Good' puts Cornwall in the top 25% of children's services in the country. We are one of only 13 local authorities that have improved to 'Good'.

"Children's services in Cornwall are good. A stable and dedicated senior management team, led by an experienced Director of Children's Services has worked steadily and purposely to implement systemic change to services for children and young people in Cornwall. In doing so they have created a culture of learning, support and challenge in a professional environment that has enabled social work to flourish." (Ofsted 2016)

We believe in humane, relationship-based social work practice with children and families. Our unified approach in Cornwall is characterised by interventions that are strengths-based and pro-social learning. Our innovative practice and services reflect this approach, including things like the Family Partnership Model, Functional Family Therapy and Video Interaction Guidance. We are a 'Signs of Safety' implementing local authority and partnership. We have taken a whole-system approach to supporting families and improving outcomes for children.

We have full time opportunities available in the following teams:

Family Assessment and Support Team - Truro and Launceston
Child Protection Team - West Cornwall
