TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATOR
BARDNEY - Office based
£Excellent
Standard working hours are 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, extra hours are required where necessary.
We are seeking a Transport Co-ordinator/Planner to work in a lovely rural location outside of Lincoln. This is a permanent job opportunity with a company who encourage personal development and career progression. Reporting to the Operations Manager your role will involve daily dealings with sub-contractors (up to 90 in peak season) and customers to ensure correct delivery of product in tankers. You will enjoy working with this vibrant team and even have lunch provided!
Role
To coordinate and record all vehicles arriving and leaving site using the software package Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Preparation of all necessary paperwork will be required. The role will have an element of answering and dealing with telephone queries as well as coordinating with customers for deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily routing of vehicles nationwide
- Preparation of all relevant paperwork
- Liaise with other departments as required
- Brief and de-brief drivers
- Work to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues
- At all times adhere to company Health & Safety policy
Personal Specification:
- Good eye for detail
- Excellent telephone manner
- Able to communicate at all levels as this is a customer facing position
- Must be able to manage drivers and coordinate with customers for deliveries
- Work within a team environment and unsupervised on occasions
- Needs to be procedural and to work within strict deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Able to work within a high- pressured environment
- Experience of working within a weigh bridge environment
- Able to work alongside internal production, laboratory and sales staff
- Experience of NAV Dynamics would be advantage but all training will be given
- Be computer literate and able to use standard Microsoft software including EXCEL
