The Teaching Assistant Person Specification
To be selected for this Teaching Assistant position you will need to demonstrate a range of skills and experience. It is essential that you have a UK based degree, ideally 2:1 or higher. However the school recognise that it takes more than just strong academics to be a successful Teaching Assistant. Therefore you will need to clearly demonstrate a clear passion and talent for teaching and education in general. A Teaching Assistant who is willing to go the extra mile to help pupils achieve their aims and goals will thrive in this environment.
The Teaching Assistant position
As the successful new Teaching Assistant, you will be working across a number of classes and subjects offering support and assistance to Classroom Teachers. There will be the chance for the new Teaching Assistants to lead small groups of students in classroom and extracurricular activities. You will gain exposure to those students with the highest natural ability levels, ensuring their expectations and attainment are stretched to the maximum. You will also work with those students who struggle on an academic level, ensuring they remain engaged and enthused with the education process.
