We are currently looking for a Development Scientist interested in a great opportunity to join an innovative and rapidly expanding In Vitro Diagnostics company in the Wirral, with the chance to start immediately in a permanent position.

The Development Scientist will work with external clients to optimise their assays so that they can be transferred to the manufacturing facility. In particular to stabilise their molecular assays to ensure that they can be manufactured using my client's proprietary freeze drying process. Being customer led, you are likely to work with varying formats, both PCR and isothermal amplification technologies and possible immunoassays.

Duties of the Development Scientist include:
* Design, development and testing of molecular diagnostic assays.
* Executing, evaluating and documenting experiments
* Working with real time PCR or isothermal technologies and immunoassays such as ELISA
* Meeting with customers and developing work packages to meet specific targets.
* Report on findings of experiments both internally and externally.
* Working closely with the production group and assisting in quality control assays.
* Work within an ISO13485 Quality system to ensure data generated is suitable for external submissions.
* Development and implementation of documentation in line with ISO13485

The successful candidate for the Development Scientist role will have:
* A BSc in Molecular Biology or related subject
* Previous experience of working in a lab environment, either industrial or academic, with knowledge of molecular diagnostics or immunoassays
