In this important role you will provide an effective checking and disseminating safeguarding service to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to aid the Service Level Agreement between Thames Valley Police and the DBS. Duties will include research of information and intelligence systems to make informed and accurate decisions in order to identify potentially relevant information which may present risk to children and vulnerable adults.
A good standard of education with excellent numeric and literacy skills is essential along with proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new systems. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills (both oral and written) and a proven ability to handle difficult customers. You must have the ability to assimilate knowledge and understanding of the DBS procedure, consider complicated information and apply relevant decisions.
Along with all other posts on Force CID, Intelligence and Specialist Operations, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
