The Role: 

As a Laboratory Scientist, you’ll be tasked with supporting day-to-day scientific and lab activities within our client’s human cell culture laboratory. 

You’ll be working to maintain human cell cultures and carry out in vitro studies to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of products and ingredients. 

Specifically, you will: 


- Carry out in vitro studies on human cell cultures and reconstructed human tissue models in order to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of products and ingredients
- Perform routine maintenance of human cell cultures
- Process, analyse and communicate the results and data from experiments conducted
- Assist with the development of new in vitro tests
- Work to high scientific standards at all times to comply with GLP accreditation
- Carry out peer reviews of written publications and presentations to validate theories and inform research
- Undertake ongoing training in the appropriate theoretical and practical skills to support the role, including cell culture, ELISA and various biochemical methods
- Keep up-to-date with the work of other scientists, both internally and externally through regular reading/research and conference attendance

About You: 

To be considered as a Laboratory Scientist, you will need: 

- At least six months’ experience gained within a commercial laboratory 
- A good level of IT literacy, particularly with MS applications, including Excel 
- A degree (or equivalent) in a life science discipline 
- To be an analytical thinker who can manage multiple priorities, problem solve and deliver 
- Great organisational skills 

Ideal Laboratory Scientists will have cell culture and GLP experience and the ability to comprehend and scrupulously implement the requirements of GLP, however these are by no means essential. 

You may have previously held the title of Laboratory Scientist, Senior Lab Technician, Scientist, Study Scientist, In Vitro Scientist, Vitro Scientist or Cell Culture Scientist. 

Other organisations may call this role Lab Scientist, Lab Associate, Laboratory Testing Analyst or Research Associate.
