We are a well-respected family run Care Home looking to appoint a Dining Assistant to work 5 evenings a week, to include alternate weekends, from 4.30 to 7.30pm. The job is based on a specialist unit for people living with dementia, some of whom have behaviour that challenges. You will assist in serving tea time meals and drinks both in the dining room and to those clients who prefer to stay in their room. You may have to assist some clients who cannot feed themselves to eat and drink and encourage other clients who may require some prompting. You will follow direction from care staff. The job will also involve collection of food trolleys, setting tables, some preparation of food and helping clients make choices from menus.
You must have a friendly, outgoing personality, a caring and compassionate nature and an empathy with the older adult.
Full training will be given. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
