Our clients are looking to recruit a GIS and Land Rights Technician to be based in the Gloucester area.

This is a full-time role which will provide CAD/GIS support and land rights assistance including access to land and land referencing on a range of projects to both internal and external clients within the Utility and Transportation Sector (water, gas, electricity and transportation).


The GIS and Land Rights Technician will have the following Qualifications:
  • A degree qualification in GIS or a related field.
  • MSc would be desirable but not essential.
 


And/or


 
  • Formal qualification to degree level that is accredited by the RICS and/or qualified as a Technical or Member of the RICS or otherwise working towards membership is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate would have two or more year’s commercial experience in a similar role and be able to provide demonstrable experience of GIS, technical consultancy and the delivery of tasks to time, accuracy, quality whilst meeting cost objectives.
 


The successful GIS and Land Rights Technician will have the following Responsibilities:
  • Data capture, management, analysis and validation; Data conversion and integration; Map production for Land Referencing products;
  • Development and implementation of methodologies for creation and use of spatial data, including digitizing, editing, coding, and annotating line, point and polygon data;     
  • Creation of Land Registry compliant Easement, Consent and Wayleave drawings;
  • Creation of landowner plans for attachment to referencing forms; Meeting with internal clients to determine GIS requirements.
  • Contact and Non-contact referencing and compiling data towards the production of Book of Reference
  • Arranging access for survey, both intrusive and non-intrusive
  • Arranging temporary access to land and land rights such as compounds wayleaves and easements
  • Preparing pre-entry records and photographic schedules
  • Preparing and serving Notices
