Responsible To: Executive Assistant Trent Academies Group

Hours: Approximately 42 hours a term in accordance with meeting needs

Trent Academies Group is a Multi Academy Trust based in Nottingham currently working with three academies, Rushcliffe School in West Bridgford, The Farnborough Academy in Clifton and Arnold Hill Academy, Arnold. We are expecting to increase this in the coming year.

We are looking to appoint a new Clerk to the Governing Bodies of Rushcliffe School and The Farnborough Academy.

The person appointed will be highly organised, have the ability to work collaboratively with others, be an effective communicator, have excellent minute taking and IT skills and be able to understand and assimilate new information and translate into advice.

Previous clerking experience would be useful, but an interest in educational developments and governance is essential.

Duties will include preparing agendas, circulating papers, recording and writing minutes, providing advice to the governing body and co-ordinating meetings. The Clerk will advise the governing bodies on procedures, governance legislation and other matters where necessary.

Hours will mostly be worked during term time, and will include early evenings to clerk at meetings. Meetings are scheduled well in advance for the full school year and the Clerk will need to be able to organise their own time, be flexible in approach and able to work with conflicting demands.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Governors and the Headteachers and the Executive PA to the Trent Academies Group Board. They will be able to deal with matters tactfully and confidentially.
