We have been instructed to recruit for a freelance Sub Agent for one of the biggest civils projects in the South West, the Hinckley Point C. The sections of works you will be undertaking include earthworks, civil & structural engineering works and new road construction so your previous background in these areas will stand you in good stead for the work which you will be undertaking.
The project is being managed by two international companies who are working in partnership so this is a prime opportunity for you to work with two established organisations who span multiple sectors including rail, power, water, building and natural resources. Not only are they working on the Hinkley Point project but also have a number of projects which will also give you scope for progression and the possibility of seeking permanent employment if you so desire.
The Sub Agent's key responsibilities would include:
*Manage the sub contractors on the roads and drainage section of works
*Manage and mentor both direct and contract project staff
*Liaise consistently with the client and stakeholders
*Write method statements, risk assessments and work package plans
*Manage a team of Site and Section Engineers
*Planning weekly and monthly programmes
As an experienced Sub Agent, you may be looking for your next career move and this contract position is a prime opportunity to work on multiple civils disciplines and obtain excellent experience from two of the UK's leading contractors.
If you believe you can undertake the responsibilities of this position, you will also need to demonstrate:
*Previously worked as a Sub Agent, Section or Project Engineer
*Civils, roads, earthworks or drainage experience
*Have experience and competent in quality assurance and writing method statements and risk assessments
*Completed construction related degree or HNC
*Hold a valid CSCS certification
