Opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join a haulage company on a fast-growing and highly profitable bulk tanker contract based in Somerset

Client Details

Our client are a haulage provider offering a dedicated service to one of the fastest growing and specialist FMCG services in the country. Based near Somerton, this dedicated haulier are responsible for assisting a GBP100m+ turnover customer within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain

Description

Reporting to the Depot Manager and liaising frequently with internal and external customers, the Transport Supervisor will be responsible for (but not be limited to) the following duties:

• Provide constant support to a team of 30+ drivers including the routing of vehicles where necessary

• Work closely with the rest of the management structure to ensure all H&S procedures are being adhered to

• Maintain excellent customer service and contact at all times

• Ensure all timesheets, tachographs and infringements are correctly logged and handled

• Oversee and control operations at other outbases

Profile

To be considered for the role of Transport Supervisor, you will need the following skillset and experience:

• LGV licence is ESSENTIAL, Management CPC is DESIREABLE

• Track record of supervising/managing within a transport operation, preferably with a history of driving

• Capable of demonstrating knowledge around O Licence compliance in line with VOSA standards

• Have a strong focus on supporting and developing staff, whilst working efficiently with all levels of management

• A desire to learn and progress with a company that invests in its staff

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Previous history working within fast-paced and pressurised environments

Job Offer

The role of Transport Supervisor offers a starting salary of GBP27,500 rising to GBP30,500 after completion of probation period
