Job Title: Civil Enforcement Officer x2 vacancies

Location: Basildon

Position: 37 Hours, Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Starting at £18,996 per annum and rising to £20,931

Closing Date: Midnight on 24/09/2017

This role will require you to assist with the safe and free flow of traffic by patrolling (on foot and/or mobile) controlled parking areas and issuing Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles which are in contravention of the parking restrictions and /or providing drivers with the necessary information in order for them to gain a better understanding of parking by way of a positive message.

Our Client are keen to deliver a strict enforcement policy coupled with a positive and courteous service so the role will require you to have excellent communication skills and maintain a polite but assertive approach in order to communicate positively and effectively with the public in an enforcement environment.

You will need to have a full understanding of the legislation of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and take part in the relevant training in order to gain a recognised parking enforcement qualification. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and not only patrol specific set zones but also respond to public complaints and requests for assistance.

You will be mainly based and work in the Borough of Basildon but will on occasions be required to carry out duties at various locations within the South Essex Parking Partnership area in order to cover staff resource issues and/or provide added enforcement capability for specific requirements.

The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week on a shift rota, based on a five day working week (Monday to Saturday) between 08.00 and 20.00 hours. The Basildon team do provide ad-hoc Sunday patrols and so you may be required to work these from time to time.
